When I showed my daughter (who’s five years old) the coloring templates for this dress and said she could design the fabric for her very own dress, she lit up and got busy. It took her about half an hour (she loves to take her time). I took photos per the instructions, emailed it to Phyllis, and very soon, I had the dress. My daughter has been layering it with fun coordinating pants/leggings and zip tops in cooler weather, and is looking forward to wearing it alone in the summer. I love that this drawing marks a significant milestone in her life — the completion of kindergarten. I think I’m going to do a milestone dress like this for her for her birthday, the end of first grade, and maybe for 4th of July, Christmas, Valentine’s Day.
